The Home and Land
The home is located at the end of a private, dirt drive in a quiet, wooded setting. Your Long Pond Retreat has over an acre of wooded land total. 1/3 of that acre is a Separate Private Waterfront lot with over 120 feet of natural shorefront.
The home sits across from the Waterfront property on the opposite side of the dirt drive. The home affords a view of Long Pond from the living room window!
You can enjoy your own private, cove shaped, waterfront complete with its own Deck, Dock and Mooring for your boat!
The Private Waterfront has a beautiful meandering wooden walkway leading to your own shorefront right on Long Pond! In the evening, the walkway and deck can be lit for a nighttime walk down to the water! There are stairs on the dock to enter the water by. There are many unique and truly spectacular views of Long Pond from the many different locations of our shorefront.
The Neighborhood
The home is located in The Belgrade Lakes Association or also called
Wildewood Estates.
In addition to our Private Waterfront with Deck, Dock and Mooring
Wildewood Estates also has 2 Common Waterfront Areas you can enjoy as our guests
== First is a Beach ==
Just 4/10's of a mile up the dirt drive from the home. We take our evening walk there, or you can just take your bike or car.
== Second is a Boat Mooring Cove ==
or picnic area. It is located just about 200 feet from the home.
There is also another common area that is not located on the water and is known as the recreation area. It is just simply 5 acres of woods with basketball hoop and a pile of dirt, some open space. Nothing fancy, just another place to hang out.
The Home
The home is warmly decorated in knotty pine and has a fully stocked galley style kitchen. There are 2 Bedrooms and one Attic/loft, with a low sloped ceiling with 3 partitioned areas and a swinging gate the overlooks the living room below. The Loft has an additional 6-twin/single beds. Giving you a total of 8 beds in all and 1 sofa bed!
The Local Area
The Peace, Serenity and beauty of Belgrade Lakes makes an ideal vacation for everyone.
The local golf course of the Belgrade Lakes is just 5 minutes from our home.
Boating, canoeing, kayaking abounds in Belgrade Lakes chain of 7 Lakes and Belgrade Stream.
There are many Nature trails and hikes.
Summer festivals and fireworks with small town charm and hospitality.
Belgrade village with its arts and craft shops and local antique stores make a wonderful break in the summer fun, should there be a rainy day or two.
Mount Vernon is just 1 town away where you will find a petting zoo.
There is also Shakespearian theatre in Monmouth, about 15 miles from Belgrade.
Enjoy the views of Blueberry Hill state park, just up the road in Rome, or paddle the water's of Belgrade Stream.
Be sure to visit Peninsula Park, just past the center in Belgrade
Or you can participate in my personal favorite activity;
just "settin'" on the deck and watching the water.
The Lake, is good for the soul.
Home Amenities: complete room by room description is listed below.
· Kitchen: Stovetop range, convection & microwave oven only, dishes, cups, pots, pans, utensils, etc., full size fridge, toaster, 2 coffee makers - 1 is a large 32 cup percolator, and the other is a regular size percolator electric and hand can opener, pantry closet.
· Living Room: Sofa, Glide rocker, dining area with table, TV with VCR & DVD player, some movies, window with view of the lake, ceiling fan, skylights.
· Game Room: sitting area with chairs and window overlooking our humble garden and private back yard, some puzzles, games, playing cards, card table, maps
· Laundry room has washer and dryer, Ironing board & Iron
· Guest Bedroom - has double bed that is a Craftmatic Adjustable Massaging Bed. There is also a second wall mounted TV with VCR, large closet, dresser drawers
· Full bath has vanity sink and stand shower only. Not a tub
· Master Bedroom-(rear addition room) Has double bed, sofa bed, cedar chest and dresser.
· The Second 1/2 Bath is located in the Master bedroom.
· Upstairs attic/loft has a sloped ceiling, is partitioned in 3 sections, and has 6 twin beds and swinging gate overlooking living room below.
· The entire downstairs is wood paneled
Stuff we supply: Blankets, pillows, sheets, liquid hand soap in dispensers, linens, towels, toilet paper. Biodegradable and phosphate free dish soap and laundry soap. Reading lamp, fan, tray tables, cooler, alarm clock, some games, puzzles, marble chess set, playing cards, some DVD and VHS movies. If there is something we failed to mention, please ask, and we will try to provide it if possible.
Stuff To Bring: Bug spray, Paper Towels, Beach towels, Extra Bedding for larger groups. We also ask that if you choose to use your own laundry soap, please use only biodegradable and phosphate free products to preserve our beautiful lake.
